Despite popular belief, a food bank's primary requirement is not food, but rather financial assistance. Although we can often obtain food for free, the cost of transportation and distribution can be substantial. Furthermore, by buying in bulk, we can obtain and distribute significantly more food than you would be able to purchase even at a wholesale club. As a result, we can confidently declare that for every dollar donated, we can provide three meals to families in Middlesex county who are struggling with hunger.
