Since the November 2,1955 inaugural dinner and dance, the Edison Democratic Organization’s (“EDO”) Mission has been to support and select candidates for public office in our local government to be included on the Middlesex County Democratic Organization Line (“County Line”) and to support our Middlesex County Democratic Organization (“MCDO”) and the New Jersey Democratic State Committee (“NJDSC”) level candidates as well. The EDO is comprised of one-hundred and fifty-six (156) MCDO Committee Members in total, with two (2) members per each of the seventy-eight (78) districts in Edison Township. These MCDO Committee Members are duly-elected dual party office holders by the registered democratic voters in their district during the primary election every four (4) years.
The Process is to ensure the democratic voters in each district have the power to elect MCDO Committee Members that will select candidates (Mayoral and Council) for ballot placement on the County Line for local public office as well as support the County level candidates that will best represent and support them locally and county wide.
